What the suite
owes the season.

There is a particular exhaustion that belongs to fashion week alone — a kind of accumulated weight: fluorescent seconds before a show begins, standing rooms, dinners that run until two. On the rue de Rivoli, Le Méurice has spent a century learning how to receive the industry at its most pressurised. By Tuesday, you will understand why.

What Prada smells like from the second row

The Fondazione Prada in September: part concrete, part ambition, part the collective fragrance of four hundred people who have not slept properly since New York. This season’s collection arrived in disciplined waves — structured outerwear, then knitwear that made you reassess everything else you own.

Seven rooms for September

September in New York requires a particular kind of base. You will leave it early and return late, overstimulated and hungry. The Mercer in SoHo has long been the answer for those who know where the shows really happen — not in the tents, but in the restaurants on Spring Street afterwards.

Hinoki. Silence. Tokyo.

At the Aman Tokyo, occupying the upper floors of the Otemachi Tower, silence is a considered offering. The rooms are arranged so the city disappears below rather than pressing in at eye level, and the bath — deep hinoki wood — is a genuine argument for Tokyo as a fashion week destination in its own right.

Five shows that mattered

Paris Autumn/Winter 2026 was the season the new appointments stopped being new. Anderson at Dior, Blazy at Chanel, McCollough and Hernandez at Loewe — all showed with a confidence their debuts could not quite claim. These are the five collections we are still thinking about.

Look 13 — the Siriano moment that lingered

Christian Siriano’s NYFW collection produced one of the season’s defining images: Look 13, worn by Anna Alimani with the kind of composure that turns a runway walk into a photograph you remember. Vogue Runway took notice.

The best hotels do not compete with the shows. They absorb them. By Wednesday evening, the lobby has become a secondary venue — better lit, better staffed, and considerably quieter.

The Long Read — Issue 01 City Guide · London Fashion Week

The Connaught, the shows, and the particular pleasure of Mayfair in February

There is an argument, increasingly well-supported by evidence, that the best way to experience London Fashion Week is to find a hotel that has decided not to perform any version of the fashion week experience. No LFW packages, no welcome cocktails themed after the season.

The Connaught makes this argument with perfect composure: it simply continues being itself. In February, when the rest of Mayfair is managing the cold and the schedule, this is exactly what you need. The bar — Aggie’s, in the corner, always somehow less busy than it should be — is still there when you return from the last show.

Paris fashion week — the hotels that held up
Paris Fashion Week — March 2026

The hotels that held up, and one that didn’t

Across nine hotel bars and four distinct sleep experiences, it became clear that the city’s hospitality industry has developed an almost clinical understanding of what the shows demand. Three properties passed every test. One, expensive and north of the Louvre, recently renovated at considerable cost, failed at the most fundamental level: it had no idea who its guests were, or why they had come.

Milan Fashion Week — February 2026

The garden that makes Milan survivable

The Bulgari Hotel Milano’s private garden — a verdant holdout in the middle of the Via Montenapoleone district — performs a function no other Milan fashion week hotel can replicate: it makes the industry feel briefly optional. The shows, the traffic on Via della Spiga, the collective pressure of a week that matters commercially and creatively — all of it suspends for thirty minutes in the late afternoon light.
